Ceiling speakers, designed to squeeze into small spaces or be used in multiples for diffuse background sound, are really hard to get right. If the driver is too small, there won't be enough bass without adding a bulky subwoofer, but the usual alternative is a 2-way where the tweeter sits in front of a small bass/midrange driver. The problem with this is that the driver shoots around the body of the tweeter, which inevitably leads to discoloration. The new Bowers & Wilkins CCM632 is a single 75 mm (3 inch) full-range driver with a beautifully balanced sound that bypasses traditional small speaker problems and yet occupies less than 150 mm (6 inch) in diameter. The CCM632 also features Bowers & Wilkins' new and innovative ZipDogs™ mounting method. These make short work of installation and withstand almost any thickness of mounting plate. Each speaker comes with an integral enclosure to minimize acoustic leakage into adjacent spaces. Speakers are delivered in pairs, with each package consisting of round and square magnetically attached and fully customizable grilles/frames.
