The A1 introduces our completely new Automat Line. Since our founding in 1991, we have always had one goal: for as many people as possible to enjoy hi-fi stereo music. We are very happy to expand our product catalog with an entry-level fully automatic turntable and create new opportunities for future vinyl beginners and enthusiasts. The A1 is handmade in Germany by a traditional manufacture with a wealth of experience in making automatic turntables. Even the individual components are 98% made and manufactured in Germany. Combined with Pro-Ject technology and ideas, we set new standards in automatic turntable design. Our new A1 is your best companion to comfortably enjoy your favorite vinyls.
The A1 has a fully automatic start/stop where the automatic is fully disengaged and decoupled throughout the duration of the record. The fully mechanical automatic is engaged when you press start and the tone arm is automatically moved to the lead-in groove of the record. After playing, the automatics are completely removed from the equation and do not affect playback quality.
ULM aluminum tonearm
The A1 has an ultra-light 8.3-inch aluminum tonearm. Together with the Ortofon OM10, which fits this design principle perfectly, we get exceptionally fast response and detail in terms of transients and microdynamics. Tracking force and anti-skating are preset at the factory, making the A1 plug-and-play ready within seconds. This makes it perfect for vinyl beginners and experienced listeners alike, as the sound quality is carried by all the audiophile features the A1 has to offer.

Detailed response and microdynamics
A little known fact is that OM Series cartridges have their development roots and legacy in ultralight tonearm designs. Pre-assembled and tuned in our factory, it is the perfect partner for your A1.
New Headshell
Carbon fiber reinforced
The headshell is made of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer that is super-stable and rigid, while keeping the weight super-low. The composite material results in excellent internal damping of resonances.

Heavy and avoids hollow spaces
The chassis avoids hollow spaces wherever possible, with just enough room to accurately fit all of the A1's internal workings. As a result, the heavy mass of the chassis reduces unwanted resonances to a minimum.
Muffled dish
Precision balanced aluminum
The damping ring on the inside adds weight and reduces resonances. In the final step, the platform is rotated and precisely balanced to accommodate fine edges and the lowest wow and flutter anomalies.

Semi-balanced RCA cable
To ensure a perfect connection to your amplifier, we use a high-quality phono RCA cable. Our Connect it E is a semi-balanced cable with low capacitance and superior shielding.
Phono preamplifier
Built-in switchable preamplifier
If you don't have a phono preamplifier in your current HiFi setup, take advantage of the built-in A1s. If you want to use another phono preamplifier, you can easily disable it.
33/45 rpm
Ready for singles & LPs
There is no need to change the position of the belt. Easily change the speed with just the push of a button and listen to your favorite LPs and singles.
