The Concept 500 uses advanced, innovative technologies to deliver pure audio excellence and a sensational soundstage. Our floorstanding speakers combine low directivity with wide bandwidth, good sensitivity and sensitive impedance, making them room-friendly and allowing amplifiers to deliver the best performance. The Concept 500 combines point-to-point (P2P™) bracing to address low-frequency panel vibration with Helmholtz Pressure Equalizers (HPE™) to compensate for pressure irregularities. Another component that allows for reduced vibration and coloration is the cabinet construction. Three separate layers are filled with a non-hardening gel, which dampens the cabinet walls and converts higher-frequency vibrations into heat.

To create a stereo sound image that gives as good an impression of width, depth and height as a live performance requires high-quality drive units, a well-designed crossover and a precisely constructed cabinet. To achieve this, Q Acoustics formed a truly talented team with many years of experience in the design, engineering and production of world-class loudspeakers. A combination that resulted in a state-of-the-art speaker worthy of any high-end system.
Crossover
Great care has been taken in both crossover design and selection of high-quality components to introduce virtually no noise and distortion. The 4-order Linkwitz-Riley topology
which gives excellent response both on and off-axis.
High-frequency driver of the Q Acoustics Q CONCEPT 500
Mechanically decoupled assembly that effectively isolates the HF driver and speaker cabinet from reciprocal vibrations that would otherwise be transmitted between them.
Closet reinforcement
A method known as P2P™ (Point to Point) bracing supports the parts of the cabinet that need to be braced to absorb low-frequency panel vibrations.
Mid/bass drivers
The Mid/Bass voice coil has an unusually large diameter of 35 mm, allowing for a larger "shove" and higher load capacity - while reducing compression.

Tall speakers often suffer from resonances caused by unwanted pressure gradients. Special
designed Helmholtz Pressure Equalizers (HPE™) compensate for these pressure irregularities.
Terminals and backend:
Access panel - The rear access panel is constructed to maintain the integrity of the Dual Gelcore™ cabinet. The Concept 500 is equipped for bi-wiring or bi-amping with terminals that can accept bare wires, spades or 4 mm banana plugs.
Cabinet base:
The Concept 500's cast aluminum base is designed without large flat surfaces or additional trim to discourage unwanted acoustic reflections. The resulting elegant design is supported by a choice of carefully designed feet to couple the speaker immobile to any surface.
Concept 500 is the epitome of elegant design, compatible with any contemporary living space and not specific to any particular interior style. The appearance is understated to look as sleek as possible, with rear-mounted mid/bass drivers that keep the baffle uncluttered and built-in magnets that secure the grille so no fasteners are visible.
Gloss black or gloss white finishes are each combined with Italian real wood veneers, chosen for their consistency in color and pattern. The veneer is used sparingly in a subtle strip, creating
creating a cabinet that is visually light and sleek. The white glossy finish was attractively paired with light oak and the black gloss with deep rosewood. Multiple coats of lacquer were then added to achieve a deep piano gloss finish.
