The CD-S303 supports Pure Direct - the same popular feature that Yamaha amplifiers and receivers have. When you press the button on the front panel or remote control, the digital audio output and display are turned off. This results in the lowest possible noise interference and therefore the highest possible sound quality from the analog audio output.

Yamaha engineers spent a lot of time and effort on the overall layout of the components and circuit boards, which has a significant impact on sound quality. The power connections for the motor drive, display and usb sections, as well as the digital and analog sections, are isolated separately to avoid electromagnetic interference. The drive mechanism sits in the center of the unit for ideal weight balance with stable performance.

The particularly logical and symmetrical internal layout of the components and circuit boards is designed to keep the signal paths on each board as short as possible. Thanks to this purposeful design, the paths between sections are also straight and short, minimizing the risk of signal loss or interference - which is not easy to achieve.

All the individual elements of a CD player affect the sound quality. Therefore, all components and materials are very carefully selected and matched by Yamaha. A high-quality acoustic capacitor, a new op-amp with ultra-low noise and high-gain bandwidth, and the use of damping material under the transformer and around the signal cables are just a few examples of Yamaha's attention to high sound quality. The internal configuration of the CD-S303 is of a level normally seen only in much more expensive models.

The high-quality D/A conversion system with 192 kHz/24-bit DAC takes full advantage of digital technology that Yamaha has refined over the years. This results in outstanding characteristics for accuracy, signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range.

The laser pickup is isolated on a floating mechanism so that its delicate operation cannot be affected by vibration.

Conventional servo tracking circuits cannot completely prevent errors caused by warped discs, dust and other deficiencies. Therefore, this system specifically for CDs uses a reliable DSP (Digital Signal Processor) to monitor the signal. In the process, pickup tracking and focus and axis motor speed are adjusted to compensate for any problems.

With the usb port on the front panel, you can easily listen to high-quality sound from digital mp3, WMA, LPCM, AAC or FLAC music files stored on usb devices. You can also play files stored on CD-R/RW discs.

Information about the CD being played is shown on the right side of the CD player display. The CD text display with 3 modes shows the CD title, artist name and track title.

It is very easy to program the songs you want to hear in any order you want. You can delete the program at any time at the touch of a button.
