The AE109 is designed to effortlessly deliver "room-filling" performance, just as the original AE109 did 20 years ago. It uses two 110 mm. paper drivers, which in turn use an ultra high force motor system, combined with a 25 mm. soft dome tweeter. The 2.5-way crossover has a unique topology that allows integration and power handling, which was not previously available for this type of speaker. Special attention has been paid to phase and time alignment for coherent performance. The driver and crossover are housed in a substantial 18 mm MDF cabinet. The result is an audio product with clean and uncluttered lines that can still deliver exciting and powerful presentations, as Acoustic Energy fans have come to expect.
