The Aria 906 is true to the DNA of the Aria range: refined high-end acoustics combined with excellent perceived value thanks to the use of noble materials. This 2-way speaker allows users to enjoy all the qualities of the flax cone: neutrality, presence and finesse. The intention was a return to the essence of acoustics for those who are passionate about music. F cones are characterized by their natural sound, with little coloration, their rich reproduction in the midrange register and their tighter bass. The result is a more homogeneous sound, improved dynamics. Aria offers a classic and modern design.
The Aria 906 is recommended for rooms from 15 m2 (160 ft2) and from a listening distance of 2.5 m (8 ft).
Poron suspension for soft treble of the Focal Aria 906 - Black - Bookshelf Speaker
For the TNF tweeter, we have made two important evolutions to our aluminum/magnesium tweeter. The suspension between the dome and the bracket is made of Poron, a shape memory material.
This suspension method is directly derived from the famous Utopia Beryllium tweeter, making it possible to reduce distortion by a factor of three in the 2-3kHz range, where the human ear has a very high sensitivity.
The spatial characteristics of the inverted dome and its very low directivity already make it far superior to conventional domes used by our competitors. This guarantees an incredibly stable soundstage that makes the listening position much less critical.
Flax cone, so original
Flax cones have been made exclusively by Focal in France since 2013. With their original design, the cones are completely focused on acoustic performance. They are made of high-quality flax fiber enclosed by two thin layers of fiberglass. Flax cones are characterized by their natural sound, with little coloration, their rich reproduction in the midrange register and their tighter bass.
The lightness of the fiber meets the criteria of high internal damping, high speed and high bending stiffness. Flax is twice as light as fiberglass because the fiber is hollow. It also has very low elasticity, making it ideal for increasing the flexural stiffness of a sandwich structure.
