Aria SR 900 is a 2-way bipolar surround speaker with the same acoustic properties as the other speakers in the Aria range.
Combined with floorstanding speakers Aria 936, center speaker Aria CC 900 and a subwoofer Sub 300 P, surround speakers Aria SR 900 assure you a reference 5.1 home theater!
Composed of two 5" (13cm) woofers with flax sandwich cones, it delivers natural mids, rich bass, very high-definition and natural sound. For the high register, there are two TNF aluminum/magnesium inverted dome tweeters with Poron suspension for softer sound. Their urethane waveguide improves horizontal directivity and provides a more accurate soundstage. Thanks to its slim cabinet design, the SR 900 speaker is compact. It is easy to integrate into your interior using the included Polyfix wall mounting system.
Poron suspension for soft treble at the Focal Aria SR900 - Black - Surround Speaker
For the TNF tweeter, we have made two important evolutions to our aluminum/magnesium tweeter. The suspension between the dome and the bracket is made of Poron, a shape memory material.
This suspension method is directly derived from the famous Utopia Beryllium tweeter, making it possible to reduce distortion by a factor of three in the 2-3kHz range, where the human ear has a very high sensitivity.
The spatial characteristics of the inverted dome and its very low directivity already make it far superior to conventional domes used by our competitors. This guarantees an incredibly stable soundstage that makes the listening position much less critical.
Flax cone, so original
Flax cones have been made exclusively by Focal in France since 2013. With their original design, the cones are completely focused on acoustic performance. They are made of high-quality flax fiber enclosed by two thin layers of fiberglass. Flax cones are characterized by their natural sound, with little coloration, their rich reproduction in the midrange register and their tighter bass.
The lightness of the fiber meets the criteria of high internal damping, high speed and high bending stiffness. Flax is twice as light as fiberglass because the fiber is hollow. It also has very low elasticity, making it ideal for increasing the flexural stiffness of a sandwich structure.
