Speed Control of the Music Hall mmf-3.3se - Walnut - Turntable - Record Player
The 3.3se has built-in electronic speed control for 33/45/and 78. Platform speed switches from 33 to 45 rpm at the push of a button. 78 rpm requires moving the belt to a different location on the motor pulley and using a different belt supplied with the turntable.
Carbon Fiber Arm with Glued Aluminum Headshell
This tone arm is unique to music hall. Gluing the alloy headshell to the carbon arm tube strengthens and dampens the carbon fiber tube. This construction significantly improves sound and performance over comparable one-piece carbon arms. The alloy headshell allows you to securely mount the cartridge to the tone arm without the twist and bending common in lesser one-piece carbon arms. Tone arms should not twist/bend as this negatively affects the ability of the cartridge and tone arm to properly follow the record groove. On many one-piece carbon tonearms, you can literally pinch the cartridge end of the arm between your thumb and forefinger and twist/bend the arm tube. Try this with the music room and the tone arm will remain rigid if your fingers start to hurt.
The arm itself is housed in a 4-point gimbal bearing assembly with Swiss ABEC bearings. This is superior to many of Music Hall's competitors that use a lesser 2-point bearing system.
