This series was created to meet the demand for an economically priced, exceptionally dynamic, active subwoofer specifically for home theater applications. The ideal combination of the lightweight CarbonGlas™ drivers with the powerful Class-D amplifier delivers unprecedented dynamics. Special input filters have been developed to provide sophisticated reproduction of the lowest lows below 20Hz. The possibility of wireless, compression-free operation adds to the proposition.

About the HT/1003

If space, or rather the lack of it, is an issue and you can do with less power that a larger REL can offer, the HT/1003 is the subwoofer of choice. Actually, it does exactly the same thing as its bigger brother, but just a little less. The powerful 10" long-throw woofer is comfortably driven by the built-in 300W amplifier. In addition to home theater applications, this woofer is suitable for gaming set-ups. As REL puts it: scaled down design, up-sized performance. Even if you already have a Ti or S model from REL, an HT/1003 can take care of the .LFE channel and provide just that little bit extra for the latest Mission Impossible.

Built with a Purpose

At first glance, the HT/1003 is a cute little box. The proportions mean that the visual impact is very low, while the depth of the enclosure leaves enough content to produce a convincing and thundering low. Actually quite amazing at this price level. The line relief of the composite finish further emphasizes the slim character of the subwoofer. The top reveals REL's craftsmanship with no less than five coats of lacquer. Bring on those special effects!

The all-new 10" (25cm) CarbonGlas™ is super stiff in addition to being feather light. The use of carbon and glass fiber is to blame.
