Newest Cordless Directly Driven Motor Achieves High-Precision Stable Rotation
The technologies gained from the development of the SL-1200 series and the high-end SL-1000R model are richly integrated into the motor drive unit, a key component of the turntable. It tunes the cordless direct-drive single-rotor motor inherited from the SL-1200GR to read the high rotational precision and high-precision signals of recording. Optimal motor operation is performed for the inertial mass of the two-layer structural plate on which the vinyl plate is placed with damping rubber on the entire surface of the backing to eliminate unwanted resonance in the aluminum casting plate to prevent irregular rotation, also called gearing. The aluminum casting chassis is tightly integrated with a special material consistency of ABS mixed with fiberglass to create a two-layer construction. The isolator consists of a spring and rubber to provide optimal, characteristic vibration damping. The tone arm has a universal S-shape with static balance, also a Technics tradition. By adopting a high-precision bearing using the same gimbal suspension design and housing as the SL-1200 series, high initial sensitivity is achieved. In addition, reliability has been improved by incorporating a removable power cord and gold-plated connectors, which reduce loss of sound quality for the PHONO and LINE jacks.
Complete Turntable with Built-in Phono Equalizer and Cartridge
To enjoy analog record playback even more comfortably, the SL-1500C includes a built-in phono equalizer and bundled cartridge. No need to prepare one separately, making it easy to pair with a wide variety of audio equipment. The shield structure of the built-in phono equalizer suppresses the effects of external noise and noise from the power supply. It is also equipped with a switch to turn off the LINE output when not in use. The turntable is designed to eliminate adverse effects from the PHONO output. The dedicated power supply for the PHONO output jack is isolated from the power supply for the LINE output jack, and is designed to prioritize sound quality by minimizing wiring of the PHONO signal. The isolated outputs also prevent miswiring. An Ortofon 2M RED cartridge, highly acclaimed as an MM cartridge, was selected for the bundled cartridge. Combining this high-quality cartridge with the performance of the SL-1500C will maximize the sound quality of vinyl records.

Once the tone arm reaches the end of the record, the auto lifter function will automatically raise the cartridge. This prevents unnecessary wear and tear on your valuable vinyl records and needle. By integrating the auto lifter function into the base of the tone arm, effects on the tone arm are eliminated. Thanks to a simple design that uses no motor power, there is no electrical or vibration impact and the movement of the tone arm is not stopped. In response to many requests from many users regarding the auto lifter function, a design was chosen that prioritizes sound quality. The functions required to play records have been kept to a minimum, making the unit simple and user-friendly.
