JENO Engine (Jitter Elimination and Noise-shaping Optimization)

To transmit the large amount of audio data to the speakers reliably and without loss, the SU-G700M2 uses fully digital amplification with the JENO Engine, based on the Reference systems design concept. To solve loss of sound quality due to jitter, the SU-G700 has an original "jitter reduction circuit" that eliminates jitter over the entire audio frequency range.

A unique high precision conversion circuit is also used for PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) construction, which is important for sound quality. Thanks to optimization of noise-shaping speed, degree and quantization number, data (even in the wide dynamic range from high-resolution sound sources) is converted to PWM signals without loss.

LAPC (Load Adaptive Phase Calibration).

Speaker impedance changes at every frequency and an amplifier must be able to drive speakers without being affected by the characteristics of respective speakers. Conventional digital amplifiers, however, are connected to the speakers via a low-pass filter at the output stage, so they are thus greatly affected by the impedance characteristics of the speaker.

Despite the fact that amplitude characteristics of conventional amplifiers were improved, improvement of phase characteristics was not really possible. Therefore, a "speaker impedance adaptive optimization algorithm" was developed, which enables correction to the ideal impulse response, through digital signal processing, by measuring the frequency amplitude-phase characteristics of the amplifier with connected speakers. This new technique makes it possible to smooth the frequency characteristics of amplitude and phase, which has not previously been realized in other amplifiers, resulting in rich and spacious sound.

Advanced Fast Power Technics SU-G700M2E - Black - Stereo Integrated Amplifier

In a classical switching power supply, the switching frequency changes in response to load fluctuation to control the circuit in time for output voltage stabilization. However, this fluctuation component in the switching frequency has a negative effect on sound quality.

The newly developed power supply reduces noise detrimental to sound quality by fixing the switching frequency. In addition, the last stage of the power supply also features a linear regulator to stabilize the output voltage. This linear regulator uses custom-made high-definition electrolytic capacitors. In addition, our current (resonance-type) power supply reduces the level of switching noise. The components used to absorb noise, such as capacitors, have been carefully selected. All possible measures have been taken to achieve low noise levels and reproduce clear sound.

Three-Piece Construction

Integrated amplifiers contain a variety of circuits, including circuits that process microsignals from inputs, and circuits that process power, such as output circuits and power-supply circuits. The Technics SU-G700M2 uses a three-part construction with dividers installed between circuit blocks based on the signal level to be processed. This eliminates interference between circuit blocks, resulting in clear sound quality. In addition to the three-piece construction, the SU-G700M2 comes with a chassis consisting of two layers of 1.2 and 2 mm thick steel plates, a top panel of 1.6 mm steel plate and a 7 mm thick aluminum front panel for improved vibration damping.

Low-noise PHONO Input of the Technics SU-G700M2E - Black - Stereo Integrated Amplifier

PHONO MC input is now supported. The PHONO input provides low noise by using a differential parallel link configuration of a first-stage, low-noise FET. In addition, four-level gain adjustment makes it possible to select the best "gain" based on the cartridge output. This enables optimal reproduction of high-grade analogue recorded sound sources, also tailored to the user's environment.

Class AA Headphone Amplifier

The Technics SU-G700M2 uses a Class AA headphone amplifier with separate circuits for voltage amplification and current amplification of the audio signal. The voltage is amplified by a high-grade operational amplifier, the current is amplified by an operational amplifier with high current-supply capability, and the high-end PWM signal output from the JENO Engine is converted to analog with high precision, all in all an ideal basis for headphone use. Music can be reproduced with low distortion and a wide frequency range, no matter what the load impedance of the headphones is.
