Nestled between the 6000 and 9000, the 7000 combines premium features in a price range that follows the mantra of industry-leading performance.
Externally resembling the Sequential series and therefore offering a brand-wide visual aesthetic match, the audiolab 7000A improves on the 6000A with a true 70W per channel output, a new DAC, a new full-color IPS LCD screen and more! More compact than the 9000 series, it retains sharp ergonomics, high-quality engineering, a convenient range of facilities and excellent acoustic performance and connectivity.
Class A and B
audiolab pulls no punches with the true nature of our power. The 7000A's discrete Class AB power amplifier stage delivers 70 W per channel into eight ohms, with a maximum current output of 9 A amps in difficult loads. A new standard in audiolab amplifiers, the output stage of the discrete power amplifier circuit utilizes a Complementary Feedback (CFB) topology, which provides superior linearity and excellent thermal stability, as the idle current is kept independent of the temperature of the output transistors. Critically specified by Jan Ertner (lead engineer for the audiolab brand); the newly developed power supply features a substantial 250VA toroidal transformer, followed by 4x15000uF reserve capacitance (60000uF total), helps the amplifier maintain firm control of the music while enabling excellent dynamic range.

Dual analog inputs accommodate CD players and line-level sources, dual coaxial and SPDIF inputs extend this for digital sources, while a Bluetooth aptX receiver provides a solution for wireless audio playback and smart devices. As standard with audiolab integrated amplifiers, the 7000A reaffirms natural integration and synergy with an ESS ES9038Q2M chip. Improving on the 6000A with this latest iteration and learning from the 9000A, the 7000A uses ESS Technology's 32-bit HyperStream architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator. As with the 9000A, the 7000A uses a post-DAC filter based on Class A topology and patented DC-coupled high-gain electronic amplifier designs to deliver ultra-low noise and high dynamic range for the digital audio connoisseur.
Streaming Technology
In addition, the 7000A also delivers full decoding of MQA, the hi-res streaming technology from a custom MQA-certified DAC solution. This means that the entire "three unfolding" decoding process is performed internally, as opposed to just the final unfolding in the manner of an MQA "renderer," making the 7000A an excellent system choice for subscribers to Tidal's "HiFi Plus" tier where Tidal Masters (MQA) content can be found.
Turning tables
The 6000A has been praised for its ability to provide an integrated phono preamplifier solution. The 7000A builds on this with a further enhanced phono stage for moving magnetic phono cartridges - using an improved version of the high-quality, low-noise MM Phono circuit and precise RIAA equalization that sets the standard for "built-in" phono preamp solutions. Same with the dedicated headphone output. To enhance the versatility of the 7000 Series, the dedicated headphone amplifier with current feedback circuitry caters to the head-fi lurking in the audiophile! As engineers in the audiolab camp have learned with every model and series; greatness can be improved. Taking the 6000A as a standard, audiolab knows that the common audio enthusiast's thirst for specifications and features would mean that the 6000A's long-awaited linear upgrade would instinctively also provide an improved display and general user interface (GUI); hence the vibrant and visually informative 2.8″ (48 x 64 mm) IPS screen. The detailed but easy-to-use GUI also carries forward a general theme of information and structure from the 9000A, only in a more compact style. The GUI includes settings for the digital phase lock loop of the D/C converter
Satisfactory images
(DPLL), brightness and operational modes. It can even be set to display a VU meter in "analog" or "digital" form; shows real-time decibel levels for the left and right channels - a satisfying graphic representation of the music as it plays.
